Hi everyone,
I’m looking for device recommendations for SMART Mobile. For context, we’ve been running SMART on the Blackview bv7100 with success. Our teams really appreciate the long battery life of this model (13,000mAh), which allows them to do two weeks of daily patrols with just a small powerbank as back-up. Equally importantly, the GPS tracks work surprisingly well in dense tropical forest.
However, Blackview has discontinued this model, and the newer models have battery-draining features that are not ideal for conservation monitoring work (e.g., AI camera, hugely powerful flashlight, etc.). We can probably disable these, but I’m wondering if anyone has experience with these newer models, such as the Blackview Fort1? I’m also looking at the older but still-available bv6200, though the battery sizes on both of these models are smaller. Does anyone have recommendations for other available models? I’m inclined to go with Blackview since the GPS is overall good, but I’m also open to other brand recommendations, especially something that works well in tropical forest with a long battery life.
Thanks in advance!
Alice
