Dear SMART Community,
I have been having this issue for some time now. I recently upgraded my SMART Connect to SMART 8.1.2 from SMART 7.5.12. I have multiple CAs, four to be specific, on my Connect. Some have been collecting data for a while now, since 2016, and others are recent additions or just don’t have much patrol data. To cut a long story short, I managed to successfully upgrade and sync to connect two of the CAs, but the other two that have large datasets, one that is 1.3GB of data having over 230k patrol data and another that is 844.090KB with over 23k patrol data, are not syncing to SMART Connect on upgrade. On trying various solutions to solve the issue. I have tried the following with no success.
- I installed the plugins (local) and all utilities as per the SMART 7.5.12 instance and then used the ADVANCE button at the login to DT stage. Then select Download a CA from SMART CONNECT. This ran for some minutes, then gave me the error here attached: Error downloading and importing conservation area. "ARCHIVE IS NOT A ZIP ARCHIVE
- I then tried the other solution by increasing the SMART CONNECT PROCESSING WAIT TIME (sec) TO 600 instead of 300. In the Connect web browser, it starts downloading the CA. I was advised that this will form the zip archive; stop it and then use the advanced method as per the first trial, but again after a few minutes I received the exact error attached.
- Thirdly, I have tried to completely download the CA from the Connect browser into my computer and try using it to upgrade, and again, this as well hit the brick wall.
with all the three trials elaborated above I have no other options to try unless there is one who has any other clue to help solve because
- I have mostly clean patrol data before reporting, but I cannot see the data; they’re currently being processed automatically within Connect. I have just unchecked that until the issue is resolved since the database keeps building up.
- My connection keeps on building up as the patrols are still ongoing using SMART 8, which is already deployed. I am afraid this keeps building into my problem of large datasets.
- My SMART DT has the outdated data, as I am unable to sync the data from Connect.
- I run my analysis query in my DT export as CSV and do my reporting outside SMART
- All my queries for monthly reports are saved on my queries on the SMART DT and not visible in the connect browser.
I have tried to work with both local and abroad SMART partners, but to no success.
My appeal: Can I have someone here who has encountered the same issue with a large dataset and can help with any workarounds? ** I don’t think the option of deleting CA from Connect, reducing the number of patrols in my SMART DT, uploading a small-size CA to Connect, and then importing patrols bit by bit till all are done is logical, especially with over 230k patrols. This will also make me lose two months of data that were already processed, as I am unable to sync them from Connect.
Does anyone have any idea how to go around this issue for the two CAs? Please share. I appreciate your help in advance. I have a good wifi signal, and as well, I have tried with different WiFi sources, including a dongle, but the error is the same as attached.
