Edit Function Disabled in Observation History – SMART Collect 1.0.566

In version 1.0.566 of the SMART Mobile app, I’ve noticed that once an observation is saved, it can no longer be edited from the history. When I go to the observation history and select a record, the buttons to edit the categories (e.g., species, activity, or other associated fields) appear to be disabled or unresponsive. It’s worth mentioning that I’m using SMART Collect and that I’m connected to the cloud via SMART Connect. Is there any way to re-enable editing for saved observations? I’m attaching a screenshot for reference.

Hi Maria,

When you create your package, for Connect enabled packages, if you’ve selected the option “automatically upload data every X minutes” this will remove the ability to edit observations, even if you have enabled this in the configurable model.

The other cause would be that the ability to edit observations has not been enabled in the profile settings under your configured model.

That’s right, thanks Alex.

If the data is uploaded automatically, then it cannot be edited on the device. If you are doing a manual upload, then you can still edit it.
