Error connecting to the database

Good day everyone,

I’m getting an error message that is preventing me from accessing my SMART desktop. The error message reads, "Could not connect to the database. Check that another instance of SMART is not running and try again. org.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException. Unable to acquire JDBC connection.

I have tried restarting my computer but still getting the same error message. Please help!

Morning Lennox

When you press CTRL+ALT+Delete, is there a SMART instance running there?

Have you moved the original folder of where SMART has been stored? Where is SMART being stored in a folder on your computer?

@djoachim Hi Denton,

I have checked, there is no other Smart instance running in the background. SMART is in a folder in Local Disk C on my computer which is the original folder. I haven’t moved anything.

The problem started whilst i was doing data audit.

Thanks Lennox, are you opening SMART via the .exe file in that C drive folder or off a shortcut created for the desktop?

With regards to data audit, did you sync to the server and then close the connection before it was complete?
