Issues importing tracks as GPX

In order to set tracks for patrols with missing or unrecorded track data, I am exporting routes from patrols as shapefiles, converting them to GPX, and then setting tracks by importing the GPX files. However, I receive the following error:

Is there a way to get around this error, or a better method for setting missing tracks?

Hi Riley,

Are you using a GPS device to get these tracks? You could import tracks directly into your patrols on SMART desktop. Are you able to share both the shapefiles and GPX files with me? You can send them to my email, jsimfukwe@smartconservationsoftware.org.

Hi,
You can try validating the GPX files using an online tool to ensure proper formatting before importing. If the issue persists, a tool like GPSBabel can make the conversion smoother and fix common errors.

Hi Nora,

I am using ArcPro to convert the shapefiles to GPX already. Would these online tools/GPSBabel still work with an output from ArcPro? Either a shapefile or converted GPX?

Yes, tools like GPSBabel can work with GPX files generated from ArcPro.
