Our CA keeps growing - the amount of data we have coming in is incredible (>2,300 patrols in August 2026 alone). As a result, we often run into hiccups with the occasional server crash (well supported by SMART!), fairly frequent RAM issues on our local drives, timeouts trying to run reports and queries etc.
One way to manage this is to periodically create offline copies of the database as archives: create a second copy of the entire SMART instance including the CA, break the link to Connect, delete all of the patrols that will stay in the live/online instance. Then, in the live/online database delete all of the patrols that are now safely archived offline. This works well, but as we move into creating yet another archive I’m wondering if there’s an efficient way to combine the thousands of patrols from multiple offline archives (assuming they all use the same Version of SMART software, of course) into a single instance? Alternatively, would cross conservation analysis work across multiple offline CAs?
