Looking at your screenshot - I think that may be an older issue with one of the open source libraries that SMART uses - not really SMART itself.
This happened in older versions when you try to style a basemap layers that had nothing loaded yet.
I’d suggest styling the query results in the query module itself (and then re-adding the data set to the report) and then seeing if it works then.
