Hello,
Would it be possible to set required questions based on the configurable model instead of the datamodel?
We re-use attributes in several models. For some models, that attribute is required and field teams need to fill it out, but for other models (e.g. Citizen Science) the attribute should not be required.
At the moment, you set “required” in the data model, which makes it required in all the models you use that attribute in. Would it be possible to change this setting to the configurable model? In this way, we can decide ourselves in which model an attribute is required and which ones it is optional.
At the moment you can only make that change at the data model level. a work around for you to consider separating at the data model level data that is collected by persons that is mandatory and making separate data model category for those persons that collect optional data.
Hi,
Thank you.
I don’t want to separate at the data model level as that will severly impact our analysis later on. The advantage of the data model now is that you can re-use questions in multiple categories.
Using the work-around would completely diminish the advantages and functionalities of the data model.
Is there any chance this will be changed in the next version in SMART? To set the “requirement” at the configurable model level instead of data model level?
