Sampling units active/inactive - Survey design

Hello,

I am using the Survey design for our Herbivore transects. The transects have been uploaded as sampling units. I need to slightly change the transects this year. I can’t delete them because there is already survey data attached to those transects in our CA.

I assumed I could use the active/inactive settings for sample units to make certain transects inactive and remove them from SMART Mobile. However when I test this in the CA and in Mobile, “inactive” doesn’t change anything.

Can someone explain what “active” & “inactive” is used for and how I can update my transects without removing the previous transects that already have data linked.

Kind regards,
Elke

That’s likely a bug in desktop SMART, should be fixed in SMART 8.1 when that is released (TBD).

Hi Jeff,

I just tested it in SMART 8 and it is still there. I de-activated sampling units in the Survey Design, I exported the package to SMART Mobile. When I open the Survey in Mobile, it still shows me all the sampling units. Also the old ones.

Is there a way to fix this?

I really need to upload new sampling units soon, for our Survey season to begin.

Kind regards,
Elke
