Feature Summary of SMART 8
SMART 8 provides substantial improvements focused on efficiency, data quality, and management:
- Smarter Data Capture: Introduce Track Types to categorize patrols, and use new Time and Tree attribute types for more precise and effective metadata collection.
- Polygon and line attribute types are available in the data model configuration, allowing for richer geospatial data capture and querying.
- Faster Management: Benefit from Automatic data processing of SMART Mobile files on Connect, and use the new announcement system to quickly send messages to all field teams associated with a conservation area.
- Enhanced Analysis: Improve data quality and reporting with the ability to query by employee participants, and use the new QA routine to help identify and clean up problematic patrol data.

How to Request For an Upgrade
To initiate the process of upgrading to SMART 8:
- Determine Date: Please coordinate internally to decide on your preferred upgrade date and time.
- Submit Request: Complete and submit the SMART 8 Release Form. This action automatically creates a ticket and starts the review process.
- Follow-up from the team: You will receive an email from the support team to coordinate the upgrade process. This will include the team sharing the installation packages, step-by-step guide on how to upgrade your SMART desktop application and ongoing support during the upgrade.
