Hi SMART Community,
We are trying to give an external partner ongoing access to all raw observation data from one CA, via their own restricted SMART Connect user account.
We created a query in SMART Desktop that was intentionally broad: an observation query of all dates, categories and attributes. It returns the full dataset correctly in the Desktop, but does not return all data (not even close) in SMART Connect. We understand that this is a large, structurally complex query, but we specifically need the raw output rather than a reduced/summarised query.
We are currently using SMART 7 and cannot coordinate an upgrade yet as several on-site PCs do not have internet access at present. Would anyone be able to assist us with a workaround that would allow the full raw observation query to run correctly in Connect without upgrading?
Thanks a lot!
Mich
Hi Michelle,
A few questions, in what format are you trying to get these results? And what date range are you working with? Is this a partnership hosted server or on-premise? We have noticed that long-running queries sometimes cause a spike in memory usage on a server then, times out before returning all the data. So maybe providing this info will be helpful to guide.
James
Hi James
Apologies for the delayed response - we ended up upgrading to SMART 8 and this fixed the issue. The format of the queries was an all-data observation query, and an all-data survey query - essentially we were trying to pull up all data in a csv. - about a year’s worth of data. We were using WPS’s SMART server but have since upgraded to a SMART 8 partnership server.
Thank you for your response, I hope these details are helpful in finding a pattern should other users experience similar issues.
All the best,
Mich
