I’m aware that SMART can support some sensor information but I’d love to hear more about what sensors are currently well supported or if there’s criteria for what can/can’t be supported. There’s increasing interest in our area to pull sensor information into SMART (e.g. from LoRaWAN devices) so I’d like to find out what could work already. Can anyone give me some more info?
If anyone is already using any sensors with SMART successfully I’d be interested to hear more about it from you - please get in touch if you’re willing to share your experience or set up.
We have a Field Sensors plugin which is mostly just for managing deployments.
We are also working on integrating different tools through a platform called Gundi and hope to continue working on new integrations in the future. To-date, I don’t have any updates on the integration of LoRaWAN devices to SMART.
It would be useful to learn how you would envisage such an integration working in case we can explore this down the line.
Hi Alex,
Thanks for your reply and the clarification. By ‘deployments’ do you mean rangers being tracked out in the field?
We’d be more than happy to chat with the Gundi team about how the sites around us would like to integrate their LoRaWAN sensors or other devices into SMART. At the moment we’re looking at devices/sensors collecting information on climate (rainfall, humidity, etc.) and soil, In addition to this, camera trap data integration would also be useful. I’ll gather more info from the sites I support to get a better picture of how they would like this to look and perhaps we can set up a call to discuss further at some point.
